| Welcome
Back |
Dear
All,
I
hope you have enjoyed the summer as
much as I did. Even though it was
a pretty wet summer I had a marvelous
time in the Belgium Ardennes. Beautiful
nature, great food, nice people, just
all you can wish for.
So now I'm ready for the second half
of 2011.
Just before the summer break we launched
our new lamp design Orb*. This new
lighting fixture is the result of
the cooperation with designer Brigit
Varenkamp. The occasion to make these
lights was the assignment of the Culturalis
Theatre in the Hague to make a light
sculpture in their tower. As we couldn't
find suitable lamps for this situation,
we decided to make them ourselves.
The result is a lighting design in
three sizes and with several applications.
Brigit
and I had help from many people developing
the Orb* and we would like to thank
especially for their help and contibution:

of the Culturalis Theatre in The Hague |

Orb*s
in the tower of the Culturalis Theater
in the Hague.

Together with Birgit Varenkamp we
designed the façade for the
Culturalis
Theatre in The Hague. We provided
the façade with beautiful printed
curtain panels. On the glass windows
we fixed a red dotted translucent
window sticker pattern.
The mission
of the Culturalis Theatre is increasing
the cultural participation of the
citizens of The Hague. Besides stimulating
and showing new talents, the theatre
aims for a new audience, especially
the multicultural people in the colourful
urban quarter “Schilderswijk”.

Chopsticks
|
|
Grained
tip
My
favourite chopsticks have grained tips.
This ensures a better grip on slippery
food. It inspired me to create these
“all grained” bubbly chopsticks
as a gift for my Japanese contacts.
Playful yet functional these chopsticks
ensure a good grip on your food and
fit comfortably in your hand. The chopsticks
are made by ZiggZagg
using rapid manufacturing.

Not
all Orb*s are dust |
|
|
| The
word "Orb" is derived from
the Latin orbis wich means circle, a
round object, especially a disk or a
sphere.
Orb's
are the little light spots in photographs
usually caused by flash reflection of
dust, pollen or rain droplets.
But the Orb has also been broadly interpreted
as a highly variable range of paranormal
phenomenon without verifiable causation
— including invisible spirits,
auras, angels, ghosts, energy fields,
psycho-energetic artifacts and energy
balls.

The
Orb* comes in three sizes:
S:
22W, ø 44 cm, h 11 cm
M:
40W. ø 56 cm, h 11,5 cm
L:
60W, ø 69 cm, h 12,5 cm
and
two colours:
white
and orange (other colours on demand)
