Material World
Together with Bingam, a local sail making company,
boo has recently developed a new beach chair
for the "Material World" project that
matches companies from Schiedam with local product
designers. Bingham worked with boo to make the
chair that is made from a recycled trailer cover.
Material world is organized by Artoteek, Schiedam
and 300procent.

The
boo project for Schijndel is completed.
Boo has designed a contemporary city gate for
Schijndel, a small town in the Netherlands.
The gate marks the entrance to the town centre
where you are only allowed to drive 30 kilometers
per hour and contains the numbers 5482, which
is the postcode for this part of Schijndel.
The gate functions as a landmark and a way of
reducing the speed of the passing traffic.

Boo’s latest lamp, formerly known
as Bucky, will be produced by our favourite
Belgium lighting manufacturer, DARK.
As the name Bucky just wouldn’t
do in Belgium, it has been renamed Hoppy.
The Hoppy will be sold as a flat package
and we promise the consumer a lot of
fun building it.
Hoppy will be launched at Remagen during
the Köln International Furniture
Fair from 16-22 January 2006. Remagen
can be found at Neumarkt 35-37, 50667

Dark party at Remagen on 16 january
2006 from 20.30 till late.

For
those who didn’t notice, MNO no longer
exists. Ben Oostrum continues to work as boo
| ben oostrum ontwerpt.
Since august 1, 2005, boo | ben oostrum ontwerpt
has been stationed at the 25 kV building, in
the Schiecentrale in Rotterdam.
The Schiecentrale in the Lloyd Quarter in Rotterdam
is a former electricity generating plant, which
has been transformed into a creative melting
pot.
I know,.. I promised a party. But as I’ve
been very busy, I haven’t found the time
to organize one. However a whole New Year is
coming and some Friday afternoon/evening, a
drink will definitely take place!
